A friend of mine asked me yesterday to give him the name of one Worship album and one Podcast that I am currently listening to. They didn’t need to be my all time favorites, just what I currently have on my phone/Ipod.

WORSHIP ALBUM:

Ghosts Upon The Earth by Gungor

To be honest, I had never heard of Gungor until December of last year. We were having dinner with some friends, talking about music, and I made the comment that I didn’t really listen to much music, especially Christian music because I thought it all sounded the same. ( know that it doesn’t and that there is a lot of great Christian music out there, I just don’t spend much time looking for it.) Our friends recommended that I check out Gungor.

On their recommendation I bought Ghosts Upon The Earth, Gungor’s most recent album without even listening to it first.

I INSTANTLY fell in LOVE with this Album. No joke, we took a 12 hour road trip over Christmas break to see my family in Tennessee and I listened to this album set on repeat the entire drive. This is one of those albums that you need to just sit and listen to. Don’t do anything else, just listen.

At the time, I was doing a general study of all the books of the Bible and how they related to each other in a practical way, and I don’t know if it was intentional, or if I was just putting things together based on my study, but I felt and still do, that this entire album from start to finish is like a painting of God’s plan for us from Genesis to Revelation only instead of paint they used music.

It really is a beautiful album. Check it out if you haven’t already.

You can buy the album here on Amazon or here on Itunes.

PODCAST:

Transforming Lives Podcast with Pastor Joel Brooks.

Ps. Joel Brooks is the Pastor of Christian Life Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is a close friend of the family and been one of my favorite preachers for a LONG time.

He has a depth to his teaching but he has such a great way of delivering his content that you don’t feel like your drowning. He’s also very “Old School” in his preaching. None of this 20 minute long sermon nonsense to fit people’s attention span, (If you do that, it’s ok, I’m attempting to be funny, you need to do what God’s telling YOU to do.) No, there are messages on this podcast that they have to stretch over a couple downloads because Pastor Joel decided to preach until he was done, even if that was 2 hours.

I think you’ll really enjoy this podcast, it’s not only Pastor Joel, but also some of his staff Pastors. They are all very good and have a unique style you might enjoy.

So how about you? What is currently one of your favorite Worship Albums and Podcast to listen to? Leave it in a comment so that I can check them out.
